Auto accident leads to woman's death in Connecticut

It is surely heartbreaking to lose a family member in a fatal crash. The loved ones who are left behind may want answers to their questions regarding the accident and also seek to hold the person who caused the accident accountable. One family member recently received the sad news of their loved one's death following an auto accident in Connecticut.

The accident happened on a recent Friday. It took place a little past 7 p.m. in the area of Routes 100 and 35. The head-on collision involved two cars, police said.

One woman, said to be 78, was riding in a car that a 65-year-old woman was operating. Their vehicle crashed into a car that a 16-year-old girl was driving. The passenger in the first car did not survive the collision. Meanwhile, the two drivers suffered injuries deemed not to be life-threatening and were taken to the hospital. A teenage passenger in the second car was also taken to the hospital.

An investigation by authorities may make it clear which driver caused the accident. The family of the deceased passenger may choose to sue the driver deemed to have been at fault, seeking damages that can help them to pay for the woman's funeral costs and other expenses related to the auto accident. The family will have to submit proof that the driver was negligent in order for liability to be established in this type of civil case. Only then will a court rule in favor of the plaintiff and determine the plaintiff's financial damage claims in Connecticut.
