Auto accident leads to 2 injuries in Connecticut

| Dec 4, 2014 | Car Accidents, Firm News

A serious vehicle collision recently led to two injuries in Connecticut. In some cases, the cause of the auto accident is the negligence of one party to the crash. In such a case, an injured party may choose to seek justice through the state’s civil court system.

Police reported that the recent auto accident was reported at a little past 7 p.m. on a Friday in Tolland. An unspecified number of people were riding in a vehicle that suddenly rolled over, authorities reported. One person ended up being ejected in the accident.

Following the crash, one passenger was transported to a hospital via ambulance. Meanwhile, a second passenger had to be airlifted to a hospital. It was not reported if there were other occupants in the car beyond the driver, and there was no report of any injuries suffered by that individual. The intersection remained closed while officials continued to investigate the accident.

The person who was driving the car at the time of the crash may be held financially responsible for the two passengers’ injuries. The injured passengers have the right to file personal injury claims in Connecticut against the driver, seeking monetary damages that may be helpful for covering medical expenses and other costs tied to the auto accident, such as the loss of wages. Speeding, driving while distracted or disobeying another traffic law are often used as proof of driver negligence. Competent proof of negligence is needed to establish liability in a civil court. A monetary award in a successfully fought case may also help to address pain and suffering related to the injuries suffered.
