Motorcycle accidents can cause injuries in Connecticut

The experience of learning that a loved one has been injured on a motorcycle can cause family and friends to be distraught. Motorcyclists and their passengers are highly at risk for injury or death in accidents -- compared with other automobiles, because a bike doesn't offer protection in a crash. Those who disobey road rules in Connecticut and end up causing motorcycle accidents can be held liable. People who have been injured in these types of accidents can seek financial damages to help them deal with such tragic situations.

Two people were injured in a car-motorcycle accident in Connecticut recently. A motorcyclist was driving on Route 44 when he collided with a pickup truck, according to police. The motorcyclist flew from his bike. He suffered injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The pickup truck driver also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital, authorities said. Police are continuing to investigate the collision. The conditions of the injured parties are unknown.

If one of the drivers is found to have caused the accident because he engaged in negligent or reckless driving, such as driving too fast for road conditions in the area or failure to yield to another vehicle, that driver could face legal challenges in the form of a personal injury claim. The injured party has the right to seek monetary damages that could be used to cover medical costs, lost wages and other expenses stemming from the accident. In civil court, negligent or reckless behavior can be used to establish liability in motorcycle accidents in Connecticut. Once liability is established in a manner that satisfies the court, financial damage claims will be decided.
