Pedestrian accidents can lead to injuries in Connecticut

Suffering injuries in a car-pedestrian accident can be traumatizing, not just emotionally but also physically and financially. Victims of pedestrian accidents must focus on healing from their injuries while also dealing with the often exorbitant medical costs tied to treating these injuries. The individual believed to have caused an injury-causing pedestrian accident in Connecticut may be held financially responsible for the victim's injuries in this situation.

One family in Connecticut is currently facing this type of scenario after a student in high school was struck by a vehicle. The accident took place on a recent Friday after 2:30 p.m. The female student suffered injuries and was transported to a medical center.

Officials reported that the girl suffered lacerations. The accident took place in an area featuring residences, where one resident reported that the teen was struck in her forehead and complained of leg pain. Another student might have been operating the vehicle that reportedly struck the girl, but that is unclear as the accident is still under investigation.

The injured victim may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit for the Connecticut accident, seeking damages. If awarded, these damages may help cover hospital-related costs and other financial losses that can be caused by pedestrian accidents. A financial award may also help to address emotional distress and pain and suffering. Competent proof of negligence must be provided in a related civil court proceeding in order to establish liability in the case. Only then will the judge decide the plaintiff's claims for monetary damages.
